It is with tremendous pleasure that I recommend Glenda Standeven to you. Since 2002 I have had the distinct pleasure to work with Glenda as the Career Advisor at Chilliwack Secondary School and liaison for the Planning 10 in the organization and coordination for Glenda’s visits.
Speaking is something she does incredibly well. She is passionate about her subject matter, which generally covers the dangers of smoking and the dangers of second-hand smoke. She is unfailingly up-beat, enthusiastic and completely accepting of all students and the many questions they ask.
As a presenter she is well organized, factual and fun! Her presentations are multimedia in nature involving video, speaking and an open question and answer period. Students have found her presentations moving. I know that many audiences who smoke or have family members who smoke have seriously considered the consequences of that lifestyle. This presentation is often the catalyst they need to make the change to becoming a nonsmoker.
This is definitely a program that every school and every student needs to hear. Like The Canadian Cancer Society, Glenda’s goals include the quest for the education of smoking-related cancers and a life without fear. She is a tireless supporter of this program and an incredible motivational speaker. I give her my highest recommendation.
